Matilda "Tillie" (Riccio) Mancini

96, of Cranston and formerly of Johnston, passed away on Thursday, January 24, 2019 at Cherry Hill Manor, Johnston. Matilda was the beloved wife of the late John Mancini. Born in Johnston, she was the daughter of the late Alfred and Mary (Russo) Riccio. Matilda was the co-owner of Plainfield Hardware for 27 years until her retirement. Mrs. Mancini was a former president and secretary of the KOFC Ladies Auxiliary Number 3597, Johnston, a former secretary of the Thorton Senior Club, a member of the Kelly Gazzero Seniors. She loved bowling and ran many leagues at Town Hall Lanes over the years.

Matilda is survived by her loving daughters Janice Mancini of West Warwick and Marlene Fuoco and her husband James of Johnston. She was the cherished grandmother of John, Vara, James and Jarad; she was also the great-grandmother of four. Matilda was the sister of Gladys Nardone of Cranston and the late John Riccio.

Her funeral will be held on Wednesday, January 30th, at 10:00 a.m. from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. in St. Rocco’s Church, Johnston. Burial will take place in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. VISITING HOURS: Wednesday morning from 9:00-10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Cherry Hill Manor Activities Department, 2 Cherry Hill Road, Johnston, RI 02919.
