88, of Newtown, CT, formerly of Cranston, RI, passed away surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, August 24, 2013 in Reading, MA. He was the beloved husband of the late Eugenia C. (Sibella) Matrullo. Born in Cranston, he was the son of the late Paul and Andreana (Lombardo) Matrullo. Mr. Matrullo was an engineer in the aerospace industry before retiring and was a WW-II U.S. Navy veteran. He was a graduate of The Johns Hopkins University and was an avid history enthusiast. He had an insatiable curiosity about how things work and served as a handyman to friends and family. He was the devoted father of Paula A. Trapani and her husband Joseph of Westport, CT, Steven M. Matrullo and his wife Nanette of Reading, MA and Julie Fiskio and her husband Steven of Duxbury, MA and loving grandfather of Andrew and Kelleigh Matrullo and Emma and Elliana Fiskio. He is also survived by his siblings Anna, Mary and Joseph Matrullo all of Cranston. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, August 30th at 11 a.m. in St. Mary's Church, 1525 Cranston St., Cranston, followed by inurnment with military honors at St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
