Mary (Camara) Peters 86, of Hoffman Avenue, Cranston, passed away Thursday, March 12, 2009 at the Philip Hulitar Hospice Inpatient Center, Providence. She was the beloved wife of the late Joseph Peters. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Manuel and Maria (Medeiros) Camara. Mary was a crossing guard for the City of Cranston for many years before retiring. She was also employed by Starkweather and Shepley Insurance Company of East Providence. She was the devoted mother of David Peters of Coventry, Robert Peters of Dublin, OH, Richard Peters of Boynton Beach, FL, George Peters of Lighthouse Point, FL and Gerald Peters of Warwick; dear sister of Helen Duffy of Beaumont, TX, George Camara of Rotonda West, FL and Joseph Camara of East Providence; and loving grandmother of four. Mary was the cousin of Evelyn Curran of Cranston who was her caregiver for the past twenty-seven years. Her funeral will be held on Saturday March 21, 2009 at 9:00 a.m. from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Ann's Church, Cranston St., Cranston at 10:00 a.m. Burial will be in St. Ann's Cemetery, Cranston.
