MARY A. DEL PADRE

Del Padre, Mary A. (Bianco), 84, of Johnston, died peacefully surrounded by her family on January 23, 2009 at St. Elizabeth Manor, Bristol. She was the beloved wife of the late Arthur A. Del Padre. She was born in Providence a daughter of the late Amadio and Angelina (Pannone) Bianco, she resided in Providence for 36 years before moving to Johnston. She was co-owner with her late husband of National Educator's Society, and later was employed for many years in the BCI division at the Cranston Police Department until her retirement. She was a lifelong parishioner of St. Bartholomew's Church in Providence, where she was a tireless volunteer, and where she had been a member of the Children of Mary and St. Bartholomew Women's Guild. She was a substitute teacher at St. Bartholomew School. She touched the lives of hundreds of young girls as a statewide troop organizer and troop leader for Girl Scouts of Rhode Island for many years. A devoted and loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Mary's greatest joy was her family. She is survived by her three daughters, Elizabeth Del Padre and her husband Kenneth J. Filarski of Cranston, Margaret Gardella and her fiancAC. Aloysius Murphy of Pawtucket and Kathleen Goldberg and her husband Bruce of Huntingdon, PA. She also leaves six grandchildren: Nadine Oxx, Elisabeth Hasselbeck and her husband Timothy, Kenneth A. Filarski, Brian, Michael and Rachel Goldberg. She leaves four great-grandchildren: Brittani and Stephanie Oxx, and Grace and Taylor Hasselbeck. She is also survived by a brother John Bianco and his wife Anita and a sister Virginia Rand all of Cranston. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday at 10:am in St. Bartholomew's Church, Laurel Hill Ave., Providence and may call at the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston on Monday 5-8pm. Burial will be in St. Ann's Cemetery, Cranston. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in memory of Mary A. Del Padre to St. Bartholomew Church Memorial Fund, 297 Laurel Hill Ave., Prov, RI 02909 or to St. Elizabeth Manor Activities Fund, One Dawn Hill, Bristol, RI 02809.
