Mary - Madelyn (Scungio) Zanecchia 80, of Sweet Hill Dr. Johnston passed away Saturday, July 26, 2008 at Cortland Place, Greenville. She was the beloved wife of the late Arnold A. Zanecchia. Born in Johnston, she was a daughter of the late Pasquale and Anna (Medeiros) Scungio. Mrs. Zanecchia was a Bus Monitor for the Johnston School Department for the past five years. Mary was a member, and a two- year consecutive term President of the Women's Auxiliary of the Santa Maria di Prata Society; and was, also, a member of the Local #808 International Laborers' Union. She is survived by her loving children, Linda A. Vendetti and her husband Albert Sr. of Johnston, Lorraine-Rose Regnault and her husband Stephen of West Kingston, her cherished grandchildren, Michael J. Vendetti Sr., Albert J. Vendetti Jr., Sheri N. Mahoney , Christen R. Ciarlo; her great- grandchildren, Andriana, Michael Jr., James and Anthony Vendetti , Virginia and Rachael Mahoney. She was the sister of Joseph Scungio of Johnston, and the late Filomena Testa, Jennie Morris, Rose Zoglio and Anthony Scungio. Mary, also, is survived by many loving nieces, nephews, sister's- in-law, brother's- in-law, and friends. Her funeral will be held on Wednesday at 10 am from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 am in St. Rocco's Church, Atwood Avenue, Johnston. Burial will be in St. Ann's Cemetery, Cranston. VISITING HOURS: Tuesday 5-8 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: Missionarys of Charity of Mother Teresa of Calcutta, 335 East 145th Street, Bronx, NY 10451.
