MARY J. (LAPROCINA) SACCOCCIA

89, of Mesa, AZ, formerly of Cranston, RI, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 17, 2013 at Park Regency Care Center in Chandler, AZ. She was the beloved wife of the late Raffaele Saccoccia and loving mother of daughter Ann Marie Bowman (Thomas "Ed") of Churchton, MD and son Ralph Saccoccia (Carole) of Mesa, AZ.

Born in Cranston, she was the fourth of twelve children of the late Nicola and Angelina (Corso) Laprocina.

She resided in Arizona for the last 61 years and retired from Hughes Aircraft Company in Tucson, AZ. She worked as an electronic technician for 30 years and was an honored member of the International Association of Machinists Local 933. Mary Josephine is survived by her dear sisters Filomena DeSimone, Rosie Manera and Virginia Frazier of Cranston and Warwick respectively along with her loving brothers Santo Laprocina of Providence and Paul Laprocina of Warwick. She was preceded in death by her devoted sister Antonetta Paglia and brothers Joseph Laprocina, Carlo Laprocina, Frank Laprocina, Pasquale Laprocina and Julio Laprocina.

Our mother's caring and loving thoughts were always there for all her relatives and descendents. She was the Grandmother of David L. Ashby, Jr. (Eileen), Michael S. Ashby (Jennifer), Joanna Melton (Craig) and Ralph P. Saccoccia (Nancy); Great-Grandmother of twelve and Great Great-Grandmother of four.

Funeral services will be from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston on Saturday, April 27th at 9 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary's Church, 1525 Cranston St., Cranston at 10 a.m. Entombment will be in Our Risen Christ Garden Mausoleum at St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.

VISITING HOURS are SATURDAY MORNING from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m.
