Age 102, of Providence passed away peacefully on August 23, 2021. Born on February 10, 1919, she was a daughter of the late Leonardo Capocci and Louisa (Acciaoli) Capocci. Mary is predeceased by her husband Frank L. Iacono, her oldest son, Frank Paul Iacono, and her four sisters, Anna Bruno, Helen Enright, Teresa Tomaszek, and Alice Brigidi. She is survived by her two sons and daughter, David (Mimi), Thomas (Nancy), and Mary Margaret (Charles) Murla. She leaves five grandchildren, David P., Michael A., Ellis R., James Francis Murla II, and Chad Murla. She also leaves eight great grandchildren, Anthony Iacono, Jacob Iacono, Nicolas Iacono, Andrew Iacono, Cylas Murla, Corinne Murla, Brycen Murla and Dominic Murla. After graduating from Hope High School, she managed Mary's Meat Market in Providence. She resided in Cranston for 35 years, before moving back to Providence. She was an active parishioner at St. Agnes Catholic Church in Providence. Mary's true passion and joy in life was her family. She gave her whole heart and soul to her family and friends. She will always be remembered as an outstanding cook and homemaker. She made countless afghans and neckties and gave them to charity and friends alike. Mary enjoyed watching her children's sporting events, and playing games, especially Scrabble.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary’s Star of the Sea Church, 864 Point Judith Road, Narragansett, RI, on Monday, August 30th, at 11 a.m. Visiting hours are respectfully omitted.
