78, of Cranston, was called home on Sunday, January 5th surrounded by her adoring family. She was the beloved wife of the late John F. Higham, to whom she was married for 40 years. Born in Providence on July 16th, 1946, Mary was the daughter of the late Gilbert C. Mann and Mary M. (Sousa) Mann.
During their time together, Mary and John were inseparable. A well-known couple in their community, they were admired for their undeniably exceptional love. Mary worked in the jewelry industry for many years before her retirement. Mary loved sweets, Christmastime, and shopping her favorite stores. Mary was easily adored by others for her delightful smile, outgoing personality, and sensational dance moves to Chubby Checker’s “The Twist”.
Mary will be incredibly missed by her 4 children, Daniel Davis (Fatima DosSantos), Melissa Davis (Richard Verry), Elizabeth Davis (Eliseo Harris), and Melissa Polanco (Alejandro); 8 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Mary also leaves behind her beloved cats that she endearingly referred to as: “my boys”, Otis and Johnny. Mary is predeceased by 5 siblings, Beverly Ferreira, Patricia Pirolli, Gilbert E. Mann, Sandra Raposa, and Gloria Bray.
Visiting hours are Saturday, January 11th, from 4pm-7pm at the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston, her Funeral Home Service will take place at 5:30pm. Burial is kindly omitted.
