MARY (RICCIARDI) GELSOMINO

85, of Johnston, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 26, 2012 at the Philip Hulitar Hospice Inpatient Center, Providence. She was the dedicated and loving wife of the late Louis "Lou" Gelsomino. Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Anna (Vastano) Ricciardi. Mary worked in the admissions office at Rhode Island College for fifteen years before her retirement. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. Mary was a graduate of Central High School, where she received a prestigious academic award. She was recruited by Pembroke College, now Brown University. Instead she chose to work until she married and started a family.

She is survived by her loving children, Thomas and his wife Lisa, William and his wife Donna, Richard and his wife Katie Gelsomino, Mary was the mother of the late Susan Corseri. She was the mother-in-law of Gary Corseri. Mary cherished and enjoyed her grandchildren, Derrick, Brian, Jason, Amanda, Steven, Joshua, Jaclyn, Caleb, Marc, Michael, David, Tim, Peter, and Andrew. She was the sister of Etta Lancia, Emma Ricciardi, and Anna Finlay, all of Cranston.

Funeral from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston on Tuesday at 9:00 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in St. Robert Bellarmine Church, Atwood Avenue, Johnston. Interment will be private. VISITING HOURS Monday 4-8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Robert Bellarmine Food Shelf, 1804 Atwood Avenue, Johnston, RI 02919.
