Mary (Iovino) Cerra

93, of Johnston passed away on Monday January 6, 2020 at home surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late Fred Cerra.

Born in Lawrence, MA she was the daughter of the late Alfonso and Concetta (Laurenzo) Iovino.

Mary was the former owner-operator of Denise’s Beauty Salon.

She was a former Johnston Welfare Director, Town Council Person and State Representative.

She was the devoted mother of Denise Martino and her husband Edward of Johnston; loving grandmother of Anthony Martino and his wife Vanessa; loving great-grandmother of Jake Martino and Anthony E. Martino; dear sister of the late Frank Iovino, Palma Caprio, Louise Parrillo and Elvira Cooper.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday at 11 a.m. in St. Rocco’s Church 927 Atwood Ave Johnston. Burial will follow in RI Veterans Cemetery, Exeter. Visiting hours and flowers are respectfully omitted.
