73, of Cranston, passed away at home surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, April 30, 2023. She was the beloved wife of Joseph P. Baldino. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Sophie (Opielawski) Kawa.
Besides her husband, she is survived by her loving daughters Tammy Eaton of Cranston, Brenda Baldino of Cranston; cherished grandchildren Nicole and Rebecca; sisters Joanne Rich, and the late Deborah Kawa. She was also the auntie to many nieces and nephews.
Mary was a stay-at-home mom and was very involved in the PTO at her children’s school. She did jewelry work from home when her children were young and then ventured out of the house for work when they were older. She worked at a Radio Station, as a waitress, and as a cashier. But her pride and joy was when her granddaughters were born. She could not get enough of those girls, and they couldn’t get enough of Nana. They always knew mom and dads’ rules did not apply when they were with her, and boy, did they take advantage of that. She loved entertaining and throwing parties and gatherings at the house. The 4th of July parties were always the best. She always made sure there was plenty of food for everyone. She also enjoyed playing cards with her husband Joe and their friends well into the night at their friend’s beach house.
