65, of Cranston, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, December 16, 2024 with his loving wife by his side. He was the beloved husband of Tracy A. (St. Jean) Garafano. Born in Attleboro, MA he was the son of Raymond and Ann (Price) Garafano. He is also survived by his daughter, Gloryana Garafano and grandson Jacob Zachary of Florida, stepdaughter Brooke Parks and stepson Sam Parks, both of Seekonk, MA; dear siblings, Raymond M. Garafano of Mashpee, MA, Rosemary Gardner and her husband David of South Carolina and Osterville, MA, Theresa Kim Smith of Julian, CA, and Patricia Sullivan and her husband Bernard of Centerville, MA; seven nieces and nephews and fourteen great nieces and nephews. He also leaves his childhood best friend, Tim “Quavis” McHenry.
Mark proudly served in the US Coast Guard, where he embraced the values of service and commitment that would guide him throughout his life. His military experience instilled in him a discipline that he translated into his career as a logistics driver for Solect Energy.
A highly skilled arborist, Mark had an extraordinary connection with trees and nature. His hobbies reflected his love for the outdoors; he enjoyed sailing, hunting, fishing and being on the ocean. Each activity allowed him to immerse himself in the beauty of the natural world he cherished.
In addition to his outdoor pursuits, Mark was an avid reader, often losing himself in stories that expanded his horizons and fueled his curiosity. He had a particular fondness for watching westerns, which provided him with both entertainment and a sense of nostalgia.
Visiting hours will be held in the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston on Friday, December 20, 2024 from 4:00 - 7:00 pm, with a funeral service beginning at 7:00pm. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: HopeHealth Hospice, 1085 N Main Street, Providence, RI 02904.
