Mario Marseglia 91, long time resident of Frances Avenue, Cranston, died Saturday, July 14, 2007 at the Briarcliffe Manor, Johnston, RI. He was the beloved husband of the late Rose A. (Ruzzano) Marseglia for 64 years. Born in Vairano Patinora, Italy, a son of the late Vincenzo and Paolina (Cipolla) Marseglia, he lived in Cranston for over 55 years. He was the father of Mario Marseglia Jr of Cranston, Vincent A. Marseglia of Warwick, and Pauline A. Catauro of Cranston; brother of Olindo Marseglia of Providence and grandfather of seven grandchildren and one great-grandson. He was the brother of the late Alberto and Michael Marseglia. Mr Marseglia, owner of the former Mario's Sanitary Barber Shop on Park Avenue in Cranston for many years was one of the youngest to ever receive a barber license from the State of RI at the age of 16 on February 27, 1932. He was very loyal to his customers visiting and providing haircuts for them in their homes and in hospitals when they were ill. Mr. Marseglia was a communicant of St. Matthew Church, Cranston and regularly served the church at Sunday mass as a collector and volunteer for church functions. Mr. Marseglia was a Third Degree Knight of Cranston Council 1738 for 21 years. He was also a long time member of the Cranston FOP. His funeral will be held on Tuesday at 10 am from the NARDOLILLO FUENRAL HOME 1278 Park Ave. Cranston followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 am in St. Matthew's Church Elmwood Ave. Cranston. Burial will be in St. Ann's Cemetery Cranston. VISITING HOURS: Monday 6-8 pm.
