Mario Loppo

81, of Johnston, passed away on Monday, July 20, 2020. He was the beloved husband of Lucy (DeVincenzis) Loppo, to whom he had been married for over 57 years. Born in Santa Oliva, Italy, he was the son of the late Domenic and Marianna (Galeti) Loppo.

Mario came to the United States in 1963 and years later, established Marlu Masonry Corporation which he operated with his wife Lucy for many years before retiring. He also owned and constructed several rental properties, which both he and his wife managed. He also enjoyed gardening and spending time with his family.

Besides his wife Lucy, he is survived by his loving children, Susanna Carlino and her husband Michael, and Cristina Howe, both of Johnston and Linda Monello and her husband Jamison, of Cranston. He also had seven cherished and adored grandchildren – Joanna, Alexandra, Michael, Mario, Christien, Sienna, and Cristiana. He was also the dear brother of Damiana Palumbo, of Italy.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Mass of Christian Burial on Friday at 10:00 A.M. in St. Rocco’s Church, Johnston. Entombment will be private. VISITING HOURS will be held in the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston on Thursday from 6:00 – 8:00.
