MARILYN M. ROCCHIO

71, of Cranston, passed away on Monday, September 12, 2011 at Bayberry Commons, Pascoag. She was the devoted companion of thirty-seven years to Anthony Saccoccia. Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Marian (Samuelian) Rocchio. Marilyn was a graduate of Cranston High School, Class of 1958. She was a talented artist, an avid reader and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.

Besides her companion, she is survived by her loving children, Lynda A. Ruggiano-Borges and her husband Antonio of Cranston, and William H. Mende, Jr. of Texacana, TX. Marilyn was the cherished grandmother of Bianca and Tiana Borges, and Celine and Sabine Mende. She was the sister of Joseph A. Rocchio of Glocester, Robert L. Rocchio of Cranston, and the late Joann Bacon.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday at 10:00 a.m. in St. Ann Church, 1493 Cranston Street, Cranston. Interment will be in Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery, Exeter. VISITING HOURS are respectfully omitted. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Beacon Hospice, 1 Catamore Blvd. East Providence, RI 02914.
