MARILYN (PIERONI) McCOOMBS

68, of Batcheller Ave. Cranston, passed away peacefully at home Wednesday, September 28, 2011. She was the beloved and devoted wife of the late Edward A. McCoombs. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Angelo and Sue (Ardito) Pieroni. Marilyn was employed by St. Joseph's Hospital for 30 years, before retiring in 2006. Her lifelong passion was singing and she shared her gift of song with many Catholic churches over the past 40 years. She also chaperoned for many years with the Rays of Sunshine Christian Theater Group.

She is survived by her adoring children, Suzanne L. Rathbun and her husband David A. Rathbun of Cranston, Melissa M. Antone and her husband Andrew J. Antone of Wakefield, her loving grandchildren, Alexander, Sarah-Marie, Harrison and Jack. She is also survived by her brother Robert Pieroni of California. She was the mother of the late Edward A. McCoombs Jr. Marilyn better known as "Ma" loved nothing more than being with her grandchildren.

Her funeral will be held on Tuesday at 10 a.m. from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory 1278 Park Ave. Cranston, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in Assumption Church, Providence at 11 a.m. Burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
