Marietta A. "Auntie May" (Macari) Charbonneau Of Providence, passed away on Thursday at Grand Islander Nursing Center, Middletown. She was the beloved wife of the late Conrad Charbonneau. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Gabriel and Elizabeth (Masso) Macari. Mrs. Charbonneau was educated in the Providence school system and worked in the jewelry industry for 58 years, starting at the age of 14 and retiring at 72. She was a floor supervisor for Torino Creations. Marietta spent most of her life in Providence, but spent the last four years living in Jamestown at the home of her niece and godchild, Elizabeth Mancini, her fiancAC., Harry Hoopis and her sister, Jennie Fratiello . She is also survived by her brother, Edward Macari, and his wife, Agnes of Cranston. Although Auntie May had no children, she considered her nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, great nieces and nephews as her children. Her passing leaves emptiness beyond words for all who knew her and loved her. Her greatest joy was being surrounded by her family and friends. She was also the sister of the late Connie Marandola and John Macari. Marietta was a member of the Society of the Madonna della Consolazione and, in her younger years, was skilled in sewing, particularly tatting (craft of lace making) and embroidery. Her funeral will be held on Tuesday at 10 am from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME 1278 Park Ave. Cranston followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 am in St. Bartholomew's Church Laurel Hill Ave., Providence. Burial will be in St. Ann's Cemetery, Cranston. VISITING HOURS: Monday 4-8 pm.
