Marie H. Lavoie
97, of Wakefield, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 9, 2015, at Scallop Shell Nursing Home, Wakefield. Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late Martin and Lillian (Woodmansee) Hames and the stepdaughter of the late Florence Mulvey. She was the beloved wife of the late Ovila Lavoie. Mrs. Lavoie worked for the US Social Security Administration for many years until her retirement. Marie was devoted to her animals, especially her terriers; she was also passionate about sewing and was well known for her thoughtful Christmas stitching and decorations.
Marie is survived by her sister, Rita Petrarca of Cranston the late Catherine McWeeney, William Hames and Francis Hames.
Relatives and friends may gather at the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME, SOUTH COUNTY CHAPEL, 1111 Boston Neck Road (Rt. 1A) Narragansett, on Tuesday, at 9:15 a.m., to follow in procession to St. Francis of Assisi Cemetery, High Street, Wakefield, for committal prayers.
