Marie A. (Eremita) Ferranti

90, passed away on Sunday, August 25, at Miriam Hospital in Providence. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Etta (Velino) Eremita. Marie lived in Cranston for many years. She was the wife of the late Nicholas Ferranti, Jr. for 64 years, beloved mother of Michael (Kathleen) Ferranti of East Greenwich with whom she resided and the late Nicholas Ferranti III. She was the loving grandmother of Ashley Ferranti of Cranston and Stacey (David) Bucci of East Greenwich and cherished great-grandmother of Shea, Eva and Lucy Ferranti and Giovanni and Lorenzo Bucci. She also leaves a sister Angela Laurino of North Providence and Sisters in Law Dorothy Nardolillo of Cranston, Barbara Menna of Santa Barbara, CA and Robert Ferranti of Las Vegas, NV and many nieces and nephews.

Marie was a selfless person who lived a life taking care of others. She always offered a listening ear and a shoulder to cry on for anyone in need, often casting her own needs aside. Her life centered around her family, and she was especially grateful that she was able to spend time with her great grandchildren. Marie knew the way to anyone’s heart was through her homemade cooking and baking. She loved playing cards with her family and friends and long talks on the phone. She had a great sense of humor and was a shoulder to lean on while navigating any of life’s challenges. She lived a life of beautiful strength and purpose and will be missed forever. 

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. in Our Lady of Mercy Church, 65 3rd Street, East Greenwich. Visiting Hours and Burial will be private.
