Marie Louise (Benedetti) D'Andrea

97, of Johnston, passed away on Sunday, March 16, 2025 at home surrounded by her loving family. 

Born in Providence, Marie was the oldest daughter of the late Peter and Rose (DeAngelis) Benedetti who immigrated from Rome Italy and raised their family in the Mount Pleasant neighborhood of Providence. Marie is survived by her sister Janice Healey, and pre-deceased by her brothers Peter and Francis Benedetti. 

Marie was married to her late husband, Francis D’Andrea for 27 years who passed away in 1980. She loved him greatly and together they raised two children, Denise Marie (D’Andrea) Cardillo of Johnston and Mark Francis D’Andrea of Jamestown. She also is survived by her loving grandchildren, Christopher Cardillo and Steven Cardillo both of Johnston, Nicole Cardillo of Cranston, Isabel D’Andrea-Kidd and her husband Nicholas Kidd of Norwell, MA and Anastasia D’Andrea-O’Brien and her husband Andrew O’Brien of Marshfield, MA; and lastly by her loving great-grandchildren Ameila Kidd, Damon and Martin Cardillo. 

For many years Marie was employed by the Department of Education and Rhode Island College as an Administrative Assistant. She was a working mom. 

Marie’s family life was the center of her world, and she was always such a positive presence in our lives and her outlook on life was something we all learned from.

Marie’s family would like to express their sincere gratitude for the outstanding care of Continuum Care Hospice and their professionals.

Her Mass of Christian Burial to which relatives and friends are invited, will be held on Wednesday, April 2nd at 10 a.m. at St. Mary’s Church, 1525 Cranston St., Cranston. Inurnment at St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: Continuum Care Hospice, 1350 Division Rd. – Suite205, West Warwick, RI 02893.
