Maria R. Monti 66, of Plainfield Pike Johnston passed peacefully surrounded by her loving family, Tuesday November 20, 2007 at the Philip Hulitar Hospice In-Patient Center Providence after a 4 year courageous battle with breast cancer. She was born in Providence a daughter of Ida (Palma) Monti and the late Pasquale Monti. Ms. Monti was a bookkeeper for Scandinavian Home until her retirement due to illness in 2003. She previously was the office business manager at the Summit Medical Center. Throughout her illness, Maria continued to cook for her family and friends her famous sausage and peppers and pasta fagioli. Maria was so appreciative of her friends and family. Her smile and compassion will live in all who knew and loved her. Besides her loving mother she is survived by her devoted siblings, Patricia A. Fiore of Cranston, Carolyn L. Monti of Johnston, Stanley J. Monti and his wife Karen of Exeter and Frank D. Monti and his wife Evelyn of Texas. She was the cherished aunt of Bryan Monti, Michele, Timothy, Kaitlyn, and James Villandry, Thomas W. Fiore, Edward Jr., Maribel, Virginia Lynn Piccirillo and Sirena and Martin Ramirez. She also leaves behind her 2 devoted pet cats Bonnie and Molly. She was the former wife of Kenneth Trow. Her funeral will be held on Saturday at 9 am from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME 1278 Park Ave. Cranston followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in St. Ann's Church Cranston St. Cranston. Burial will be in St. Ann's Cemetery Cranston. VISITING HOURS: Saturday 8-9 am.
