Maria E. (Della Sala) Mancini

92, of Providence passed away peacefully on January 7, 2025 surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late Giovanni Mancini.

Born in Avellino, Italy she was the daughter of the late Carlo Della Sala and Maria Cozzolino.

Mrs. Mancini was a seamstress at Filene’s for many years and after her retirement she continued to do alterations for family and friends. She had sewn robes for the annual Feast of St. Anthony celebration procession.

She enjoyed traveling with her husband and spending time with her great nieces and nephews. 

Maria was an active communicant of St. Bartholomew’s Church. 

She leaves two brothers, Gerardo and Bruno Della Sala; and many nieces and nephews in Italy. She was the sister of the late Carmine, Vittorio, Luigi and Bruno Della Sala.

She was the aunt of Antonietta Napolitano and her family, Salvatore, Pasquale, Annamaria Napolitano and Lisa D’Ercole; and many great nieces and nephews in RI. She was the aunt of the late Guido Mancini and his family; and step-mother of the late Josie Zonfrillo.

Sincere thanks and appreciation to the nurses and staff at Cherry Hill Nursing Home for the care given to Maria and support provided to the family. 

Thank you to the pallbearers; their kind assistance is deeply appreciated and gratefully acknowledged.

Her funeral will be held on Thursday, January 16, 2025 at 10am from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11am in St. Bartholomew’s Church, 297 Laurel Hill Avenue, Providence.  Her Mass will be live-streamed and may be found at www.facebook.com/nardolillofh/. Burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. VISITATION Thursday morning from 9-10am. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Bartholomew’s Church or to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.


92, di Providence è morta serenamente il 7 gennaio 2025 circondata dalla sua amata famiglia. Era la moglie del defunto Giovanni Mancini. 

Nata ad Avellino, in Italia, era la figlia del defunto Carlo Della Sala e Maria Cozzolino. 

La signora Mancini è stata una sarta da Filene per molti anni e dopo il suo pensionamento ha continuato a fare modifiche per la famiglia e gli amici. Aveva cucito abiti per la processione annuale della festa di Sant'Antonio. 

Amava viaggiare con il marito e trascorrere del tempo con i suoi pronipoti.

Maria era una comunicante attiva della chiesa di San Bartolomeo.

Lascia due fratelli, Gerardo e Bruno Della Sala; e molti nipoti in Italia. Era la sorella del defunto Carmine, Vittorio, Luigi e Bruno Della Sala. 

Era la zia di Antonietta Napolitano e della sua famiglia, Salvatore, Pasquale, Annamaria Napolitano e Lisa D'Ercole; e molti pronipoti e pronipoti nel RI. Era la zia del defunto Guido Mancini e della sua famiglia; e la matrigna della defunta Josie Zonfrillo. 

Sinceri ringraziamenti e apprezzamento alle infermiere e al personale della Cherry Hill Nursing Home per le cure prestate a Maria e il supporto fornito alla famiglia. 

Grazie ai portatori di bara; la loro gentile assistenza è profondamente apprezzata e riconosciuta con gratitudine.

Il suo funerale si terrà giovedì 16 gennaio 2025 alle 10:00 presso la NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston, seguito da una messa funebre cristiana alle 11:00 nella chiesa di St. Bartholomew, 297 Laurel Hill Avenue, Providence. La sua messa sarà trasmessa in live streaming e potrà essere trovata su www.facebook.com/nardolillofh/. La sepoltura avverrà nel cimitero di St. Ann, Cranston. VISITA Giovedì mattina dalle 9:00 alle 10:00. I contributi in memoria possono essere versati alla chiesa di San Bartolomeo o al St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
