Maria A. Guilmette

65, of Johnston, RI, passed away on February 19, 2025, with her family by her side, leaving an irreplaceable void in our hearts.

She was the devoted daughter of William H. Guilmette, Jr. and the late Donna Guilmette, as well as the late Lillian G. Wade.

She leaves behind her loving sisters and brothers: Deborah Ziadeh (Emile), Kathy Guilmette-Cipriano (Victor), Tammy Meloni (David, Sr.), Patti Davis (Jeff), Dina Patnaud (Michael), Dino Guilmette, and the late William H. Guilmette, III.

Maria was the ultimate caretaker and giver, with a heart that was truly immense. Her world revolved around her family; her sisters and brothers were her lifelines, and her parents were her everything.

The greatest loves of her life were her four children: Nicola Scarcella (Selaina), Adriana Froncillo, Chiara Barnett (James), and David DeNuccio. She loved us unconditionally and made sure to end each day by telling us, “Love you more.” We are so proud and honored to call her mom.

There was no greater joy for her than her grandchildren, whom she often referred to as her “heartbeat.” She absolutely adored Jimmy, Teresa (Tess), Milana, and Ariela. “Grammy Ria” placed her grandkids at the center of her world, no matter what.

She is also survived by many nieces and nephews whom she adored. She loved each one as if they were her very own, and each shared a motherly bond with their aunt, as she played a significant role in raising all of them.

She had a remarkable ability to build unbreakable bonds within our entire family. The connections she created among all of us will last a lifetime, and for that, everyone is forever grateful.

She was strong and exemplified the meaning of perseverance, and the importance of never giving up hope, despite the situation and odds.

She was a blessing.

Simply put, Maria was the heart of our entire family. There are no words to adequately describe how sweet, humble and strong she was.

She was so very special, so very loved, and she will be so deeply missed.

Mom — we love you more.
