MARIA P. (MELUCCI) GEMMA

96, of Providence, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 27, 2010, at Cedar Crest Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Cranston. She was the beloved wife of the late Albert Gemma. Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late Antimo and Ernestine (Diodati) Melucci.

Maria is survived by her loving daughters, Jeannine E. Mastrati of Cranston and Maria G. Empson and her husband Neil of Milan, Italy. She was the grandmother of four and the great-grandmother of four. Maria was the cherished aunt of Vivian Iaci of Providence. She was the sister of the late, Edith LaFauci and Frank, Edward, Armando Melucci.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Monday at 10:00 a.m. in St. Mary's Church, 1525 Cranston Street, Cranston, and may call at the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston, on Sunday 4-8 p.m. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 931 Jefferson Blvd., Suite 3004, Warwick, RI 02886.
