85, of Cranston, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 16, 2025 at the Briarcliffe Gardens in Johnston. She was the beloved wife of the late Vito A. DiPaola. Born in Cerreto Sannita, Italy, she was the daughter of the late John and Filomena (Fappiano) Conte.
Maria loved to garden, cook, and preserve all she harvested. Maria and her husband taught many friends and family how to preserve tomatoes, cure sausage, and make delicious wine all which will continue on. Family was the most important thing to her.
She is survived by her loving children, Anna M. Umberto and her husband Louis of Cranston, Luigi G. DiPaola of Cranston; cherished grandchildren Victoria Griffin and her husband William, Dina Umberto, Brandon DiPaola and his wife Ariana, Louis Umberto and his wife Jacquelynn, and great grandchildren Vienna and Gioia Umberto, Gio and Talia DiPaola; dear sister Josephine Pelosi and her husband John.
VISITING HOURS will be held on Monday, February 24th from 8:00 – 10:30 a.m. in the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 a.m. in Holy Apostles Church, Cranston. Entombment will take place in St. Ann Cemetery Mausoleum, Cranston.
