MARIA (LUCCA) CARBONE

89, of Johnston, passed away on Friday, February 4, 2011, at the Philip Hulitar Hospice Inpatient Center, Providence. She was the beloved wife of the late Carmine M. "Mike" Carbone. Born in Bialatina, Italy, Maria was a daughter of the late Antonio and Agnes (Santora) Lucca.

She is survived by her son Vincent Carbone of St. Johnsbury, VT, daughters Isabella Sukaskas of Providence, Agnes Boffa of Johnston, and Anna Taylor of Cranston. Known as Mama to her loved ones, she leaves ten grandchildren Joseph and Jason Sukaskas, Lawrence Taylor, Vanessa Carbone, Melissa Todd, Kevin Taylor, James Boffa II, Casey and Clay Carbone and the late Kimberly Miele, and two great-grandchildren, Arianna and Olivia Sukaskas, all of whom she loved dearly and enjoyed spending her time with. Maria was the sister of the late Angelina Giardina, Eda Barile, Pasquale, Angelo, and Frank Lucca.

Funeral from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston on Tuesday at 9:00 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in St. Bartholomew's Church, 297 Laurel Hill Avenue, Providence. Burial will be in St. Ann's Cemetery, Cranston. VISITING HOURS Monday 4-8 pm.
