Margaret (Palminteri) Gallagher

83, of Cranston passed away on Wednesday, January 27, 2021 at Philip Hulitar Hospice Inpatient Center.

Born on December 13, 1937. She was the only child of Salvatore and Mary  (Milazzo)) Palminteri of Brooklyn, New York. After high school, she worked in Manhattan where she met her husband at a church dance. They married in 1962 and soon after moved to Rhode Island, settling in Cranston.

Margaret loved her life as a wife and mother. She worked for the Cranston School Department when her children were young, then worked in the Trust and Investment Department at Citizen’s Bank until her retirement.

After retirement, she became a master gardener and loved spending hours tending to her gardens and proudly showing off her backyard to all visitors.

Margaret loved her church and parish family. She ran the program Feed My Sheep at Holy Apostles for 15 years. There she organized volunteers that fed sick parishioners when needed. Margaret was tireless, giving and always loved.

She leaves behind her husband of 58 years, James, her daughter Meg Sylvia, her son Christopher and his wife Lisa and two grandchildren Kaitlyn and Collin.

Friends and family are invited to attend her Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday February 3, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. in Holy Apostles Church, Cranston. Burial will be private.
