Manuel C. "Skip" Ponte, Jr.

82, of Narragansett and Sarasota, FL, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 10, 2023 surrounded by his loving family.  He was the beloved husband of Lynne E. (Bush) Ponte.

Born in Pawtucket, RI, he was the son of the late Manuel C., Sr. and Marion (Nunes) Ponte.

Skip was extremely grateful for the faith and trust Irving Shechtman had in him to carry on the auctioneering business with his sons.  He had a huge and unforgettable personality, touching the hearts of many through his music and comedy.  He enjoyed the company of family and friends.

Besides his wife, he leaves three children, Dianne Pack (Terry) of NC, Manuel “Skip” Ponte, III (Kathy) of Warwick and Dean Ponte (Fatima) of East Greenwich; three step-daughters, Kerilynn Hambly (Dana), Kristina Thurston and Lauren Skeldon; three granddaughters, Korinne, Courtney and Alicia; and a great-grandson, Mason.

His services were privately held at St. Francis Cemetery in Wakefield.  Memorial contributions may be made to Hope Health Hospice, 1085 North Main Street, Providence, RI 02904.
