MADELINE (PIERSON) POCCIA

85, of West Warwick, passed away on Thursday, January 10, 2013 at Kent Hospital in Warwick. She was the beloved wife of Anthony Poccia. Born in Pawtucket, she was the daughter of the late Marcel and Blanche (Desrosiers) Pierson.

Madeleine was a salesperson at David's Bridal before her retirement and worked at Providence Box and Lumber and Ferland Construction Co. She was also a Producer at WJAR for the Gus Parmet Sports Show; a Girls Basketball Coach for Sacred Heart CYO; and a Troop Leader for Sacred Heart Girl Scouts.

Besides her husband, she was the devoted mother of Diane Myers, Michael A. Poccia, Robert J. Poccia and David J. Poccia; loving grandmother of Derrek, Ryan, Nicole and Marcus; and dear sister of Lucille Gannon.

Funeral from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston on Tuesday at 8:45 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in Sacred Heart Church, 820 Providence St., West Warwick at 10 a.m. Interment will be at St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. Visiting hours are Monday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.
