Madeline E. (Colando) Leone

89, of Johnston, passed away Tuesday, January 28, 2025 at home surrounded by her loving family. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late William M. and Doris L. (Parker) Colando.

Madeline was a circulation supervisor at the Mariam J. Morh Memorial Library in Johnston where she worked for 35 years before retiring. She was an avid reader; enjoyed traveling with her family to Disney and Nantucket; holiday gatherings with family; and was known for her Italian egg biscuits.

Madeline was the devoted mother of Carolyn A. Leone with whom she lived; Leslie A. Ganac and her husband Kevin of South Kingstown and Richard P. Leone, Jr. and his wife Chanthy of East Greenwich; dear sister of the late Norman Colando and Leslie Colando; and loving aunt of Peter and Paul Colando and their families. She is also survived by her cat Lucy.

Her Mass of Christian Burial to which relatives and friends are invited, will be held on Thursday, January 30th at 10 a.m. in St. Rocco Church, 931 Atwood Ave., Johnston, followed by burial at Acotes Cemetery in Chepachet. Visiting hours are respectfully omitted.
