MADALINE F. (LAKE) HATHAWAY, 87, of Hope Road, Cranston, passed away Sunday, November 18, 2007 at Cedar Crest Nursing Home in Cranston. She was the beloved wife of the late Russell B. Hathaway.
Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Waldo A. and Helen M. (McGovern) Lake.
Mrs. Hathaway was a Licensed Practical Nurse at RI Hospital for 5 years, and in 1961 she did private duty nursing until retiring in 1970. She was a member of Cranston Senior Services; a member of RSVP Advisory Services from 1987-1994 and voted Volunteer of the Year in 1995, and was manager of the RSVP Gift Shop from 1987-2006. She was a member of Phillips Memorial Baptist Church and its Hope Circle; and a member of Cranston Retired Fire Fighters Association.
She was the devoted mother of Russell F. Hathaway and his wife Diane of Cranston; loving grandmother of Paul D. Hathaway and his wife Patricia, Cheryl A. Angilly and her husband Edward and Stephen R. Hathaway, all of Cranston; loving great-grandmother of three; and dear sister of Waldo A. Lake of Pheonix, AZ, John F. Lake of Smithfield, William H. Lake of Coventry, and the late Dorothy E. Ramsay, Donald F. Lake and Leonard L. Lake.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Service Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. in Phillips Memorial Baptist Church, 565 Pontiac Ave., Cranston, and may call at the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston on Tuesday 5-8 p.m.
Burial will be in Highland Memorial Park, Johnston.
