M. PATRICE (SCHUETTE) McMAHON

M. Patrice (Schuette) McMahon, 83, of Conanicut Road, Narragansett passed away on Thursday, April 15, 2010 at home surrounded by family. She was the wife of the late Paul B. McMahon. Born in Highland Park, Illinois, she was a daughter of the late Oswald F. and Mary (Moran) Schuette. Patrice grew up in Washington, D.C. and graduated from Trinity College with a degree in Mathematics and Physics. She was employed by the Naval Observatory in Washington, D.C. as a mathematician. Following her marriage to Paul, they raised a family in Pawtucket, where Patrice became active in the St Teresa Parish community. She was a member of the St Teresa Seniors; a former trustee of the Pawtucket Public Library and past president of the Friends of the Pawtucket Public Library where she established "Books for Children at Christmas" giving program. After many years of summer residence at Bonnet Shores, she retired to live full time by the sea. She served on the St. Thomas More/St. Veronica social and festival committees and was a member of the Book Club. Patrice loved to travel, being particularly proud of flying around the world, standing on the equator and crossing the Arctic Circle. When asked to describe her life, her response was " I had fun". Mrs. McMahon is survived by her children; Paul B. McMahon Jr.of Narragasnett, Robert P. McMahon of Brooklyn, NY, Mary F. McMahon and her husband Richard F. Whitaker of Warwick and Oxnard, CA, Stephen J. and his wife Brigitte McMahon and son Michael R. McMahon of Leesburg, VA, Joseph P. McMahon of Narragansett, Mark W.and his wife Kay McMahon and son Sean P. McMahon of Riverside and Catherine A. McMahon of Narragansett. Sister of James Schuette of Maryland and the late Oswald F. "Mike" Schuette Jr., Patrick Schuette, William Schuette, Anne C. Tkacik and Mary Ellen Castellan. Funeral from the Nardolillo Funeral Home, SOUTH COUNTY CHAPEL,1111 Boston Neck Road (Rt.1A) Narragansett on Monday at 10:00am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Veronica Chapel, Boston Neck Road, Narragansett at 11:00am. VISITING HOURS Sunday 3-7pm. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to: Mt. St. Mary's Abbey, 300 Arnold Street, Wrentham, MA 02093. Burial will take place on TUESDAY, April 20th at 11:00am in Mt. St. Mary's Cemetery, 661 Prospect Street, Pawtucket.
