Luzia Santos
86 of Cranston It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Luzia Santos, a cherished mother, daughter, sister, grandmother and friend. Luzia peacefully entered into the Kingdom of God on July 24, 2023 surrounded by her three daughters. She was born in the Azores, Portugal, the daughter of the late Clemente Rezendes and Filomenia Rapaoso de Mederios. She is survived by her daughter: Elizabeth Renzulli and her husband Frank Renzulli of Cranston, RoseMarie Clemente and her partner Robert Mancini of Cranston and AnnMarie Harty of North Providence. She was predeceased by her siblings, Jose, Clemente and Maria Arruda and her cherished grandson Jason Calcagni.
Luzia was a woman of immense strength and resilience, born in Sao Miguel, Portugal, where she spent her formative years building a foundation of love, compassion, and work ethic that would shape her character throughout her life. Migrating to the United States to call East Providence her home in 1960. She was the epitome of grace and hard work.
Family was the center of Luzia's universe, and she reveled in the joys of motherhood. Raising three beautiful, successful daughters, Luzia was extremely proud. As a grandmother and great grandmother, she showered her grandchildren and great grandchildren with endless affection, delighting in every precious moment shared with them. Her nurturing spirit extended beyond her immediate family, as she embraced her friends and extended family, especially her nieces, forging bonds that would last a lifetime.
Luzia was a woman of great christian faith, finding solace and strength in her belief in our Lord and savior, Jesus Christ. Her unwavering devotion to her faith provided her with the courage to face life's challenges with grace and acceptance.
In her free time, Luzia found joy in simple pleasures – gardening, cooking Portuguese food, baking Christmas cookies, enjoying gourmet food at the finest restaurants in Rhode Island, shopping, singing and dancing to Portuguese music, and sharing laughter with dear friends and family. She possessed a zest for life that was contagious, her witty sense of humor left a trail of smiles wherever she went.
Although our hearts ache with grief, we find solace in the beautiful memories she leaves behind. Luzia's legacy of love will continue to inspire us and guide us through life's challenges. She also leaves behind
her granddaughters Nicole Renzulli and Brittney Novison, her husband Eric Novison. Her grandson Ryan Harty and her five beautiful great grandchildren Anthony, Francesca, Jovanna, Brie and Emmett.
May we all always remember the gift of her gentle words;

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral home service led by Father Scott Pontes on Saturday, July 29, at 10:00 ( kindly arrive by 9:30 am) in the Nardolillo Funeral Home 1278 Park Ave, Cranston. Burial will be private and (visiting hours are respectfully omitted.)
In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, a cause close to Luzia's heart.
