84, of Cranston, died Thursday, May 27, 2010 at the Philip Hulitar Hospice Inpatient Center, Providence. He was the husband of Gloria A. (Lato) Lombardo. They were married for sixty-two years. Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Angelo and Emaculate (DeFusco) Lombardo. Mr. Lombardo was employed by Ruggieri Floor Covering of Cranston for thirty-five years, before retiring in 1988. He was a member of Teamsters Local #94 of Providence, and the United Commercial Travelers. Besides his wife he is survived by his children, Edward A. Lombardo and his wife Linda of Smithfield and Carol A. Lombardo of West Warwick. Luigi was the grandfather of Edward and Kristen Lombardo and the great-grandfather of Ava Grace and Nathan. He was the brother of Alice Albanese of Providence, and the late Salvatore, Anthony, Frank, Victor, Marshall, Joseph, and Angelo Lombardo, Anna Martinelli, Edith LaFamme, and Florence Coresetti. Funeral from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston on Wednesday at 9:00 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in St. Mary's Church, Cranston Street, Cranston. Burial will be in St. Ann's Cemetery, Cranston.
