LUIGI ANTONIO ARTEMIO BIANCO III

Age 69, passed away on July 14 at the Philip Hulitar Inpatient Center in Providence. He was the son of the late Luigi A. Bianco, II and Yolanda (Lonnie) Palmiri Bianco. Mr. Bianco was a lifelong resident of Southern New England and graduated from Enfield High School in Connecticut and from The Rhode Island School of Design in Providence. He had a long and productive career in the field of Interior Design and maintained close ties with the Rhode Island School of Design, serving variously as a member of the Board of Trustees and as President of the Alumni Council, and was instrumental in determining the location on campus of the Alumni House. Mr. Bianco also maintained a long association with The Providence Preservation Society, serving as a member of the Board of Trustees for 25 years, as Chairman of the Planning and Architectural Committee and as a member of the Most Endangered and the Annual Awards Committees. He is survived by his brothers, Richard Bianco of Richmond, VA and Michael Cooney of Wadsboro, VT, many members of the Palmiri side of his family, and by his partner, William Meinke. At Mr. Bianco's request no funeral services are planned. Donations in his memory may be made to The Providence Animal Rescue League, SPCA of RI, the Philip Hulitar Inpatient Center, or the American Cancer Society. A Celebration of Mr. Bianco's life is tentatively scheduled to coincide with what would have been his seventieth birthday in October, details to follow as they are known.
