LUCILLE C. (MONTAQUILA) CONTI, 94, of Johnston, passed away Friday, February 20, 2009 at Saint Antoine Residence in North Smithfield. She was the beloved wife of the late Joseph Conti. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Angelo and Maria (DeChristofaro) Montaquila.
She attended Bryant College and worked at the former Boston Store, downtown Providence as Payroll Master, and later worked for many years at The Blind King in Providence. She was a member of the Daughters of Isabella and was active in that organization for many years.
Lucille loved her family very much and was devoted entirely to family.
She was the devoted mother of John J. Conti and his wife Fran of Lincoln; loving grandmother of John J. Conti, Jr. and his wife Kimberly of Cranston and Sharon L. Acciardo and her husband David of Lincoln; loving great-grandmother of David and Colby Acciardo and Tyler, Lindsay and Nathan Conti; and dear sister of Angela Faella of Cranston. She was the sister of the late Edith DeCesare, Amarinda Scacciotti, Louise Krekorian and Ralph, Sam, Anthony, John, Thomas and Frank Montaquila.
Funeral from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston on Monday at 8:45 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Robert Bellarmine Church, 1804 Atwood Ave., Johnston at 10 a.m. Burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. VISITING HOURS Sunday 5-8 p.m.
