LUCIA S. PALUMBO

Lucia S. (Cardente) Palumbo 64, of Golden Avenue, Johnston, died Sunday, August 12, 2007 at the Philip Hulitar Hospice Inpatient Center, Providence. She was the wife of Vincent A. Palumbo, Sr.; they were married for forty-two years. Born in Providence she was a daughter of the late Pasquale and Maria (Esposito) Cardente. Mrs. Palumbo worked in banking all her life with the former Fleet Bank, Greater Providence Deposit and Trust, joining Bank of RI in March 1996. She was promoted to manager at the Atwood Avenue Branch until her retirement in 2000. Mrs. Palumbo resided in Johnston for the past forty-two years. Besides her husband she is survived by one son, Vincent A. Palumbo Jr. and his wife Rina of Johnston. Mrs. Palumbo was the grandmother of Tyler Palumbo, the light of her life. She was the sister of Frederick Cardente of Johnston, Albert Cardente of West Warwick, Anthony Cardente of Foster and the late Theresa Sinapi. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at St. Rocco's Church, 927 Atwood Avenue, Johnston. Visiting hours are respectfully omitted.
