Mr. Romano served in the U.S. Army from 1943-1968 retiring with the rank of Master Sgt. During the Battle of the Bulge, he was a medic in the 75th Infantry Division, and was a Purple Heart recipient.
He was the dear brother of Lorenzo Romano of Providence, Lydia Ranalli and Edith Ceprano, both of North Providence and the late Celia Baker and Carmino Romano. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
His funeral will be held Monday at 10 a.m. from the Nardolillo Funeral Home-SOUTH COUNTY CHAPEL, 1111 Boston Neck Rd., Narragansett, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Thomas More Church, 53 Rockland St., Narragansett at 11 a.m. Interment with Military Honors will be at RI Veterans Cemetery in Exeter. VISITING HOURS MONDAY MORNING 9-10 a.m.
