Louis A. Romanelli, Sr., 83, of Johnston, died Wednesday, August 15, 2007 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband for 60 years of Julia E. (Bagnatori) Romanelli.
Born in Providence, a son of the late Julius and Josephine (Ferri) Romanelli, he lived in Providence, before moving to Johnston in 1991.
Mr. Romanelli worked for the U.S. Postal Service as a letter carrier for 27 years, retiring in 1986.
He was a WW-II Navy Veteran serving aboard an LST as a radioman. He was a member of National Association of Letter Carriers.
Besides his wife, he was the devoted father of Joan A. Kiedyk and her husband Andrew of North Kingstown, Jean A. Giacheri and her husband William of Johnston, Julie A. Capozzi and her husband Paul of Lawrence, MA, Louis A. Romanelli, Jr. of Johnston, and the late Judy A. Romanelli; loving grandfather of nine; and dear brother of the late Argentina Barone and Julius and Dante Romanelli.
Funeral from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston on Saturday at 8:45 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Joseph's Church, Danielson Pike, North Scituate at 10 a.m. Burial with Military Honors will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
