LOUIS A. GAZZERRO, SR

90, of Cranston passed away peacefully on Friday, February 3, 2012 at Our Lady of Fatima Hospital, North Providence. He was the beloved husband of sixty-five years to Lorraine D. (Menard) Gazzerro. Born in West Warwick, he was a son of the late James V. and Giulia (DeSalvo) Gazzerro. Louis was a shipfitter for General Dynamics Electric Boat at both Quonset Point and Groton, CT for over forty years before retiring in 1986. He was a communicant and usher at St. Bartholomew's Church. Louis was a member of the Knights of Columbus and a Lifetime member of the Kelly & Gazzero VFW Post, both in Johnston. He was a US Navy veteran serving during WW II. Louis loved dancing, music and traveling.

Besides his wife, he is survived by his loving children, Louis A. Gazzerro, Jr. of North Providence, Nancy A. Ramos and her husband J. Michael of Mapleville, and Joan M. Soave of Tempe, AZ. Louis was the cherished grandfather of M. John, Nicholas and Craig Ramos, Nico, Joel and Julia Soave, and the great-grandfather of Talia Ramos. He was the brother of Amelia Kuniss of Warwick, Lena Cianca of Westwood, MA, Edward Gazzerro of West Warwick, and the late Anthony Gazzerro, Lucy DeRensis, Julia Schmidt, and Vincent Gazzero.

Funeral from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston, on Wednesday at 9:00 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in St. Bartholomew's Church, Laurel Hill Avenue, Providence. Interment with Military Honors will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. VISITING HOURS Tuesday 4-8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Bartholomew's Church, 297 Laurel Hill Avenue, Providence, RI 02909-3897.
