78, of Cranston, passed away on Monday, August 16, 2021 at home, surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved and devoted husband of Frances G. (Capirchio) Calore. They had a special marriage of 58 wonderful years. Born in Providence, Louis was a son of the late Salvatore and Rose (Bianco) Calore. Mr. Calore was a truck driver for Calore/Cook Transportation for many years and recently retired from Citizens Bank.
He graduated Cranston High School East in 1961. He was a sports enthusiast whether on the golf course or on the football field as a player or CLCF head coach. He loved being “Papa” to his grandsons and never missed a single game or tennis match.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his loving daughters, Jeanne Glendinning of Exeter and Joanne Calore of Cranston. Louis was the cherished grandfather of James Glendinning and his wife Keri, and Jonathon Glendinning. He was the dear brother of Ernest and Salvatore Calore, and the late Joseph Calore and Maria Jiacovelli. Lou had the kindest soul and led with a quiet strength.
His funeral will be held from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston on Saturday at 10 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in Holy Apostles Church, Pippin Orchard Road, Cranston at 11 a.m. Visiting hours are on Saturday MORNING from 9-10 a.m. Burial will take place in St. Ann Cemetery Cranston.
