Louis Calcagni, Jr.

LOUIS CALCAGNI, JR., 82, of Greenville, passed away at home on Tuesday, July 18, 2023.  He was the beloved husband for 43 years of Susan T. (Goss) Calcagni.  Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Louis and Assunta (Cassieri) Calcagni.

Louis worked at the Planning & Development office, City of Providence, for over 30 years.  In addition to city planning, he was a General Contractor, developing custom residential properties from his father’s company established 1952. He attended St. Pius School and graduated from LaSalle Academy in Providence in 1959.  He served in the US Army during the Vietnam War and then graduated Wentworth University, Boston, MA. Louis enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, collecting cars, golf and cooking.

Besides his wife Susan, he was the devoted father of Melissa S. Cottrell (Sean) of Warwick and Louis Calcagni, III (Gina Luciano) of Millis, MA; loving grandfather of Rebecca, Giuliana, Anthony, Mackenzie, and Ian; and dear brother of the late Eleuterio, John and Mario Calcagni.

Funeral from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston on Tuesday, July 25th at 8:45 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Pius Church, 240 Eaton St., Providence at 10 a.m.  Burial with military honors will be at St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.  VISITING HOURS are Tuesday Morning from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m.
