92, of North Providence, passed away on Monday, August 6, 2012 at North Bay Assisted Living, Smithfield. He was the beloved husband of 71 years to Sarah (Karagozian) Araujo. Born in New York, NY, he was a son of the late Hillary and Leonidis (Francinetti) Araujo. Mr. Araujo was a machinist and tool maker for electric boat in Groton, CT for 26 years. He was a Navy veteran of WW-2. Lou joined masonry in 1966 and upon completing his degree he signed the bylaws of Roger Williams Lodge #32 in Centredale, RI in 1967. After which he served as Master of the Lodge in 1980-1981 and continued a long and distinguished Masonic career with his undying support and charity. Lou was a member of the RI Shriners which he belonged for 40 years. During that time he served as the Captain of the Temple Guard in 1986-1987 and again in 1992-1993. He served as Aide to several Potentates and as Personal Aid to 111. Potentate Chuck Allspach in 1985. He was awarded Legion of Honor and was an active long time member of the Campus club. Besides his wife he leaves 3 daughters: Andrea Pono of Cranston, Genevieve Lugbauer of North Providence, Michele Araujo of Brooklyn, NY and 2 grandchildren. His funeral service, with military honors, will be held on Friday at 11:00am at the NARDOLILLO FUENRAL HOME & Crematory 1278 Park Avenue Cranston. VISITING HOURS: Thursday 4-8pm.
