LORRAINE D. (FARROW) GROSS

LORRAINE D. (FARROW) GROSS, 81, of Cranston, passed away quietly at home Saturday, August 16, 2008.
Born in Cranston, she was the daughter of the late George R. F. Farrow and Annie F. (Perry) Farrow, and a granddaughter of the late Alfred Caesar Augustus Perry, Chief Sachem of the Narragansett Indian Tribe. She was the beloved wife of the late Donald C. Gross. She is survived by her two sons, G. Raymond F. Gross of Los Angeles, CA and Carl R. Gross II of Wakefield, her sister Barbara H. Gross of Cranston, and her two grandsons Geoffrey R. Gross and Nicholas E. Gross of Los Angeles, CA.
Lorraine was a graduate of Cranston High School and became a registered nurse after graduating from Lincoln School for Nurses in New York City. She later became a registered technician in nuclear medicine after earning her Bachelor of Science from Rhode Island College. She worked as a registered nurse at Roger Williams Hospital and as a nuclear medical technologist at Rhode Island Hospital. She finished her career as a school nurse in the Providence school system before retiring in the late 1980's.
Lorraine was an active member of the Providence chapter of CHUMS Inc. for over 30 years and served as its president on more than one occasion. She enjoyed sewing and knitting and made many of her own clothes as well as many fine sweaters for her boys.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Service Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. in the NARDOLILO FUNERAL HOME, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston, followed by interment in Swan Point Cemetery, Providence.
VISITING HOURS TUESDAY 5-8 p.m.
