LORIS J. BASS

94, of Winsted, CT, formerly of Warwick and Cranston, died Monday, March 29, 2010 at the Charlotte-Hungerford Hospital, Torrington, CT. He was the husband of the late Anna L. (Ruggieri) Bass. Mr. Bass was employed by the former Warwick Railway for twenty years. He also worked as a bus and trolley driver for the City of Providence for fifteen years. Most recently he was employed as a security guard for the former Leesona Corporation of Warwick for eight years before retiring in 1978. Mr. Bass was a 50 year member of the United Transportation Union Local #1462 and a Retired Director of the Branford Electric Railway Association of CT. Mr. Bass was the father of the late Lorine A. Ianiero and the brother of the late Dorothy Dulgarian. He is survived by his two sons, Lawrence T. Bass of West Greenwich and Robert A. Bass of Colebrook, CT. six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. in St. Mary's Church, 1525 Cranston Street, Cranston and may call at the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston on Monday 5-8 p.m. Burial will be in St. Ann's Cemetery, Cranston. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the 1504 Fund, C/O Branford Electric Railway Association, 17 River Street, East Haven, CT 06512 in Mr. Bass's memory.
