LORETTA M. (BASTONE) GOSSELIN, 86, of Mt. View Dr., Cranston, passed away Saturday, March 28, 2009 at RI Hospital's Jane Brown Unit. She was the beloved wife of Edward H. Gosselin, Sr. Born in Cranston, she was the daughter of the late Angelo and Angela (Mongony) Bastone.
Loretta was a supervisor at Monet Jewelry for 13 years, retiring in 1984. She was a professional pianist and singer, and was a member of Musicians Union 198. She was member of the Rosary and Altar Society at Immaculate Conception Church in Cranston; past Secretary of the Oaklawn Senior Citizens; a member and volunteer at the Cranston Senior Center; did volunteer work for various clubs and organizations; and was a recipient of the Feinstein Award for Community Service. Loretta was also a free lance writer and professional photographer. Besides her husband, she was the devoted mother of Edward H. Gosselin, Jr. of North Providence, Robert A. Gosselin of Cumberland and Alan C. Gosselin of Orlando, FL; dear sister of Andrew Bastone of Grandville, OH; loving grandmother of 8; and loving great-grandmother of 13. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. in Immaculate Conception Church, Oaklawn Ave., Cranston, and may call at the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston on Monday 4-8 p.m. Interment will be at RI Veterans Cemetery in Exeter.
