Lorenzo "Larry" DiBenedetto, 94, of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, formerly of Providence, passed away Tuesday, February 5, 2008 at home. He was the beloved husband of the late Etta (Valentino) DiBenedetto.
Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Frank DiBenedetto and Theresa (Capezza) DeFusco, and stepson of the late Pasquale DeFusco.
Mr. DiBenedetto was a stock broker and member firm Account Executive of the New York Stock Exchange for 20 years, retiring in 1983.
He was a WW-II Army Veteran and was a recipient of the Purple Heart. He was a member of Bagalio Tocci V.F.W. Post in Providence; 43rd Infantry Division Veterans Association, RI Chapter; and Elks Lodge #1517 in Ft. Lauderdale.
He was the dear brother of the late Nicholas DiBenedetto and Frank DeFusco, and is survived by his sister-in-law Rita DeFusco of Cranston and many loving nieces and nephews.
Funeral from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston on Monday at 8:00 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary's Church, Cranston St. Cranston at 9:00 a.m.
Entombment with Military Honors will be at Our Risen Christ Garden Mausoleum in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
