LOIS E. (HILLIARD) PARENTE

87, of Warwick, formerly of Cranston, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 16, 2013 at Kent Regency Health Center, Warwick. She was the beloved wife of the late Joseph C. Parente. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Stanley and Lena (Carr) Hilliard. Lois was a teacher and librarian in the Warwick School Department for twenty-five years before retiring in 1991. Prior to becoming librarian, Lois taught 5th grade at the Warren A. Sherman School in Warwick. She was a member of the Rhode Island Science Fiction Club of Warwick and traveled to several world conventions on science fiction.

She is survived by her loving daughters, Norma E. Shorr and her husband Robert of Warwick, and Gail H. Amaral and her husband David of Seekonk. Lois was the cherished grandmother Nicole, Alexandra, and Nathan Amaral, and Jarred Shorr.

Relative and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Monday at 10:00 a.m. in St. Mark Episcopal Church, 111 West Shore Road, Warwick. Interment will be in St. Peter & Paul Cemetery, Coventry. VISITING HOURS Sunday 4-8 p.m. in the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston.
