Linda Helen Hughes-Rivers,(Hughes) RN, 63, of 12 Overlook Rd., Narragansett passed away on Monday July 2, 2007 in her home surrounded by her loving family following a courageous battle with cancer. She was the wife of Robert F. Rivers for 34 years. She was born in Providence a daughter of the late George C. and Evelyn B. ( Pierce ) Hughes and she had resided in Narragansett for the past 34 years. Beside her husband she is survived by her children; David S. Robinson and his wife Haley of Jamestown and Melissa M. Hyde and her husband Joshua of Richmond. She was the grandmother of Michael, Noah and Joshua Robinson and Nathan Hyde. Linda was an extraordinarily gentle, caring and spiritual person who dedicated her life to helping others and enriched the lives of all who knew her through her work as a registered nurse, early childhood educator, fiber artist and master gardener. She was a graduate of Roger Williams University's Social and Health Services Bachelor's Degree Program and Rhode Island Junior College's Associate's Degree Nursing Program. She was the founder and director of the St. George's Waldorf Playgroup, named in memory of her loving father and she was a parishioner of St. Peter's By-The-Sea Episcopal Church, Narragansett. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Requiem Eucharist service celebrating Linda's life on Monday at 10:00am in St. Peter's By-The-Sea Episcopal Church, 72 Central St., Narragansett and may call at the Nardolillo Funeral Home SOUTH COUNTY CHAPEL 1111 Boston Neck Rd., ( RT 1A ) Narragansett on Sunday 4-8pm. Burial will be private.
