Lila Josephine (Guzzo) Palazzo

Lila Josephine (Guzzo) Palazzo, 95, passed away peacefully with family at Villa De San Antonio in San Antonio, Texas on June 11, 2023.  Lila was born on November 20, 1927 in Providence, Rhode Island to the late Peter Guzzo and Anna (Iacchei) Guzzo.  She was the loving wife of the late A. Eric Palazzo, who passed away in Providence, Rhode Island in 2000.

Lila’s greatest joy in life was being mom to her devoted children, grandma to her loving grandchildren and Gigi to her precious great grandchildren.  Her faith in God guided her throughout her life, and with her husband Eric, shared that faith through the Search Program, as an advisor to engaged couples in Pre Cana, and in her later years as a shawl knitter for the sick and elderly.   In addition she was employed at Lannon Insurance Agency in Cranston for over 20 years.  In her later years, she was fortunate to move to San Antonio, Texas to be with her daughter Lisa and her husband, where she was a communicant of St. Anthony Mary Claret.

Lila is predeceased by her sister, Barbara (Guzzo) Cadden and is survived by her children Eric A. Palazzo and wife Barbara (Benson) Palazzo of Glastonbury, Connecticut, Lisa A. (Palazzo) D’Agnenica and husband Anthony D’Agnenica of San Antonio Texas, and Marc C. Palazzo and wife Stacey (Lausin) Palazzo of Austin, Texas.  She is also survived by her 5 grandchildren Kara (Palazzo) O’Neill wife of Andrew, Brad Palazzo husband of Sheri, Anthony D’Agnenica husband of Jessica, Andrea (D’Agnenica) Feerst wife of Robert and Lia Palazzo as well as her great grandchildren Jack and Abrielle O’Neill, Capri and Vienna Palazzo, and Sloan D’Agnenica.

Her Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, June 22, 2023 11:00 am at St. Mary’s Church, 1525 Cranston St., Cranston, RI, followed by inurnment at St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
